What we are looking for

An organised and motivated individual to assist with warehouse operations including receiving, checking and storing of our stock including preparing stock to be signed out.  

About the role

The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for the receiving and checking of deliveries including record keeping, labeling and organising of stock.  The role also requires careful handling, moving and packing of stock.

What you will be doing

  • Move stock and materials across the warehouse.
  • Process stock delivery.
  • Sort, organise and store stock in the required locations.
  • Package items and label them correctly as required.
  • Scan delivered items and ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Report any damages or missing stock to supervisors.
  • Stack and organise large bulk items.
  • Remove stock from delivery vehicles.
  • Update stock registers and documentation for stock processing.
  • Move materials from facilities to workstations, pick-up locations and/or other locations.
  • Wear safety gear while handling stock.
  • Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles.
  • Work as an active team member to complete team goals.
  • Prepare documentation and stock audits.
  • Ensure access controls are adhered to at all times.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • High school qualification or equivalent (Matric).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Clear criminal history.
  • Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk and climb during the course of the shift.
  • Able to lift up to 20kgs or more.
  • Flexible to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with stock management software, and able to upload data into the company system.
  • Pays attention to detail and monitors the quality of stock.
  • Highly organised and able to store items efficiently.
  • Must follow all health and safety procedures and regulations, including the completion of relevant training, as required by the company.
