Our Story
TooMuchWifi was started in 2016 with the aim of providing more affordable internet connectivity to aspirational communities within Cape Town. The founders Jonathan Endersby and Ian Thomson set out to develop our own network infrastructure and technology that bridges the connectivity gap in areas where the cost of data is too high.
Now serving the greater Western Cape, with over 400 000 happy customers in over 50 communities, we are on a mission to bridge the digital divide faced in aspirational communities.
We partner with our communities through various initiatives like soup kitchens, sports teams and local events, as well as building relationships with community members and influencers.
By providing fast, reliable and affordable internet connectivity, we can connect communities and businesses, facilitate access to information and education, and enable people to work and communicate effectively- no matter where they are in the world.
As a nation, we must ensure that everyone has equal access to the benefits of the internet because without connectivity, people fall behind and the digital divide becomes an economic divide.

Social Impact
TooMuchWifi cares about the communities we serve. Our business is driven by our social impact – by providing access to low-cost internet, as well as improving the lives of the people we serve.
In historically disadvantaged and under-resourced areas we serve in, we have saved over R340 million in data costs. We have also trained and upskilled more than 300 people and employ over 75 staff from aspirational communities.
TooMuchWifi reinvests 30% of our revenue back into our communities through revenue sharing, salaries to community-based staff and by supporting local suppliers.
We also reinvest 10% of our revenue from data sales as a ‘social currency’ to support community organisations in education, youth leadership, the environment and entrepreneurship.
