Founded in 2016 in the Western Cape, TooMuchWifi was born out of a desire to make affordable internet accessible to underserved communities. What started as a simple act of helping one household soon revealed a much bigger issue—the stark contrast in internet costs between suburban areas and township communities. While affluent households spent less than 0.2% of their income on internet access, families in underserved communities were paying up to 24% of their earnings just to stay connected.

This imbalance sparked a mission: to bridge the digital divide and ensure that everyone has the tools to thrive in a digital world. Our commitment to this mission is reflected in how we operate—we reinvest over 30% of our profits back into the communities we serve. This isn’t just corporate responsibility; it’s about growing together.
