Alone on Valentine’s Day? Here’s what you can do to make the most of the day

Are you spending another Valentine’s Day by yourself this year? Consider this the perfect excuse to treat yourself! Here is a list of what you can do to make the most of the treacherous day.

  1. Binge romantic movies

There is nothing more self sabotaging than watching a hopeless romantic movie while you’re feeling sorry for your single self. Let’s face it, watching fictional people fall in love while you stuff your face with snacks from Uber Eats is way better than wearing an uncomfortable outfit and going out.

  1. Text your ex

Why wait for the right person to come along when you can just go back to the past? You probably broke up for a very good reason, but Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love. You could use this time as an opportunity to reflect on who you are outside a relationship, but you could do that any day of the week!

  1. Download a dating app (or all of them)

Take advantage of being sad and single by chatting up and meeting with sad and single people too! The best relationships are born out of shared interests. “I don’t want to be alone anymore” is definitely a shared interest. Red flags just look like flags when you’re single.

Valentine’s day can be a tough day when you’re single. Don’t let your lack of a partner ruin what could be a very enjoyable day by yourself. Make sure to treat yourself. Have your favorite food. Watch your favorite show or read a book. Spend the evening playing a video game you enjoy. Make sure you take February 14th as a day to focus on yourself.
